DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) -- A raccoon has tested positive for rabies in Henry County.
Headland Police Chief Mark Jones said the raccoon was found at Douglas Park in Headland by a park worker and was put down.
The raccoon was taken to a local veterinarian and tested positive for rabies.
It is currently unknown if any pets or people in the area had contact with the raccoon.
The Henry County Health Department is investigating to make sure no other animals and residents contracted the disease.
