APEX, N.C. (WNCN) - Wake County traditional calendar students are officially back in school.
On Monday, students at Felton Grove High School in Apex made their way inside the new school for the very first time. Felton Grove is one of four brand new schools the Wake County Public School System is opening this school year.
"I will get my steps in, try to visit every single classroom, be as visible as possible," said principal Rob Morrison. "I have my notepad with me to write down notes as I walk and just greet the kids and try to create our positive culture."
Morrison got to school early to welcome students. Wake County Schools Superintendent Robert Taylor was also on campus Monday morning. Taylor says the new schools will help as Wake County's population continues to grow.
