RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — As summer comes to a close and leaves begin to fall, the City of Raleigh is launching a special program for leaf collection focused on holiday events.

According to the city, the Holiday Special Events Leaf Collection Program focuses on bulk leaf removal for holiday events. People can sign up for the program by submitting an application, which the city said is due by Sept. 19.

Per the new release from city, the program "seeks to recognize long-established public celebrations" and anyone applying has to meet the qualifications the city has laid out to consider the event both public and established. • The event has to have been in place for five years or more as of January 2025. • The event may cannot be prohibitive in any way.
