Kent will see a noticeable change in conditions this week, with sunshine giving way to outbreaks of rain, following a record-breaking bank holiday Monday elsewhere in the UK.

While Kent basked in their hottest late-August bank holiday on record, and some parts of the UK were close to 30C, the South East is now bracing for a return to more unsettled conditions. But the best day on the horizon is looking like the 2nd September - where it is pure sunshine, but only 20C. There are no 25C+ days in the forecast for Kent as yet.

The Met Office said the remnants of Hurricane Erin are helping to drive wetter and windier weather across the country, bringing the first significant rainfall many areas have seen for some time.
