DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) -- After spending nearly all her life in the land down under, one woman has found her new forever home in Dothan and a hobby that has unexpectedly thrust her into the limelight

Amanda Shenton was not born in the United States, but one life-changing decision has propelled her into unfamiliar territory, making her an internet sensation.

"I feel like a nobody. I wouldn't expect anybody to be like 'you're that girl from TikTok," said Shenton.

Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, Shenton came to the U.S. Back in 2013, but after a major shift in her personal life, she talked with a friend who encouraged her to take a leap of faith.
