SIKESTON, Mo. (WSIL) -- Authorities are looking for a suspect after a shooting incident along I-57 in Mississippi County on Monday.
Detective Sergeant John Blakely with the Mississippi County Sheriff's Office said the shooting happened on I-57, roughly four miles east of Sikeston, just after 5 a.m. on September 1.
Blakely stated a male in his mid 20s was shot multiple times and was taken to a hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Authorities are looking for a suspect in connection to this incident. Blakely said the suspect has been identified and is a male in his 20s.
The Scott County Sheriff's Office and Sikeston DPS are assisting the Mississippi County Sheriff's Office in this ongoing investigation.
