Parents in New Britain are expressing frustration just one week into the school year, saying the bus company contracted by the city, First Student, has been failing their children by delivering late pickups and drop-offs, and in some cases, taking students to the wrong schools.
Somers McCray’s son, who is diagnosed with autism, was taken to the wrong location last Friday, leaving her worried sick.

“I would not know what happened to my baby if I did not have his location that day,” McCray said.
Her son’s school day ended at 3:30 p.m. in Waterbury, but he never arrived home. McCray said the bus company dispatch initially told her the GPS tracking was lost.
