MINOT, ND (KXNET) — It's official, the Minot Police Department has its first-ever Deputy Chief as Dale Plessas was sworn in on Wednesday.

Plessas has served with the Minot PD for 24 years now, and prior to this new role, he served time as captain, investigations commander, and interim police chief.

Plessas says his top priority as deputy chief is working on recruitment and retention, and making sure they continue to make the police department somewhere people want to work.

Plessas says he plans to set the standard for future deputy chiefs in Minot and to continue to follow the lead of Chief Michael Frye.
