Messinger CEO honors her grandfather’s vision while keeping the family-owned mortuary rooted in community service

Sabrina Messinger-Acevedo considers herself lucky.

Few people get the chance to work side by side with a grandparent, learning not just the mechanics of a family business but the values that built it.

As CEO of Messinger Mortuary at the age of 34, a legacy company with four funeral homes, two cemeteries and two crematories spanning the Valley and Payson, she carries forward the vision that her late grandfather, Paul Messinger, began more than 60 years ago.

Even as corporate buyouts sweep through the funeral industry, Messinger-Acevedo says there’s no question her family’s company will remain what it’s always been: family-owned and deeply rooted in the community.
