BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - North Dakota is solidly Republican, so it might surprise you that the state is only now adopting school choice measures.

The Innovation School in Bismarck offers a glimpse of what school choice could look like in North Dakota.

The school is one of the closest current examples of a school operating outside the traditional public school system: it’s private and promotes small class sizes, project-based learning and individualized education.

Alicia Jerome has two children who attend the school. She said the learning model has given them not only an education, but also confidence.
