The fire department responded to a call at Vineyard Lodge, Shore Street, on Sunday night at about 9:30. A fire was discovered in a small shed next to the barn, and was discovered just in time, as the interior of the shed was a mass of flames by the time the department had reached the building. The building was filled with dry hay and situated between and very close to both the barn and the residence of E. Pierson Beebe, and in all probability would have fired both buildings had it not been noticed in time. The loss was estimated at about $300.
