LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — A 27-year-old man was arrested on September 2, 2025, and charged with inflicting great bodily injury upon a child. South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) investigators were requested by the Chapin Police Department to assist with an investigation into incidents that occurred between November 1, 2024, and December 1, 2024.

The arrest warrant for Jordan Hysell alleges Hysell did "willfully and unlawfully inflict great bodily injury upon a child, resulting in bodily injury which creates a substantial risk of death or which causes serious or permanent disfigurement, or protracted loss or impairment of the function of any bodily member or organ."
