MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) - Behind every mile cancer patients travel for treatment is a heavy cost, one that can add up quickly.

In Minot, the Fuel the Fight event is giving those patients a lift, raising funds to ease the burden and remind them they’re not alone in the journey.

People who fueled their vehicles at the Dakota Square Arco gas station on Saturday not only had the chance to win free gas for a year, but they also donated to the cause.

The event featured a helicopter landing, a dunk tank, free food, and a chance for families to experience riding in emergency response vehicles.

Owner Lori Wonnenberg has partnered with Trinity Health for the last eight years.
