MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) - September is Suicide Awareness Month, and cities around the state are hosting Out of the Darkness Community Walks.

Organizers held their walk in Minot’s Oak Park Sunday. The event featured vendors and tables with a variety of agencies and resources, including mental health.

The walk also featured a wall where those in attendance could post tributes to those lost to suicide.

Many of those involved have known someone who struggled with mental health or lost someone close... and the goal of these walks is to help raise awareness about suicide prevention.
