COLFAX, Wash. -- A motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with serious injuries Saturday morning from a crash in Tekoa.

According to the Whitman County Sheriff's Office, a 20-year-old Rosalia man was driving near the intersection of Poplar and Washington Street around 11 a.m. Saturday.

The motorcyclist tried to pass a turning vehicle in the intersection but instead crashed into the vehicle.

The motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle. He suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to the hospital for treatment.

The driver and passenger of the vehicle had minor injuries.

The crash is under investigation.
