Firefighters were battling a 50-acre brush fire in an unincorporated area near Lake Elsinore Saturday.

The fire was reported around 12:30 p.m. Saturday near the area of Crumpton Road and Highway 74, where crews reported smoke showing and the fire burning at a moderate rate of spread in medium fuels, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

An evacuation order was issued for the following areas:

north of state Highway 74, south of Hammack Avenue, east of Vista Avenue and west of State Highway 74;

north of state Highway 74 and El Toro Cut Off Road, south of La Barranca and Santa Rosa Roads, east of El Toro Road and west of Hammack Avenue.
