NEWBURGH, Ind. — A shelter-in-place advisory has been issued in a southern Indiana county due to a fire that police say could include hazardous chemicals.
According to the Warrick County Sheriff's Office , around 2:42 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6, the Ohio Township Fire Department and other local fire departments began working an active fire on Vann Road between Weathers Road and Anderson Road. Police say the fire could include "hazardous chemicals."
Police are asking anyone east of Anderson Road between Vann Road and Oakgrove and Roeder roads to shelter in place until further notice. Residents east of Anderson Road on Sharon Road, Ferstal Road and State Road 66 are also asked to remain indoors.
