REDDING, Calif. - Three store clerks were caught selling alcohol to a minor during a minor decoy operation conducted by the Redding Police Department on Thursday.

During the operation, 23 different businesses were visited, with the violations taking place at the AM/PM on Bechelli Lane, the Food Mart on Tarmac Road, and at Winco Foods on Old Alturas Road.

Authorities say that store employees who sell alcohol to minors face a minimum fine of $250 and/or 24 to 32 hours of community service for a first violation.

Additionally, the California Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) will take administrative action against the business's alcoholic beverage license, which could include a fine, suspension, or permanent revocation of the license.
