WRENSHALL, Minn. (Northern News Now) - A small group of family and friends met on Broadway St. in Wrenshall to mourn a life gone too soon.

On Friday, near the intersection of Broadway Street and Crestwood Drive, 11-year-old Avery Anderson was struck by a pickup truck while riding her bike.

According to the Carlton County Sheriff’s Office, first responders attempted life-saving measures, but Anderson ultimately died from injuries sustained during the collision.

The group placed a purple cross as a memorial to remember Anderson before coming together in prayer led by their pastor.

According to the family, Anderson loved the lord and everybody in the community.
