Many viewers were left questioning Ben Doak’s decision to change his name, as the former Middlesbrough loanee shone once again in a Scotland shirt on Monday evening.

Starting this summer when he joined Premier League side Bournemouth, the Boro loan star has started to use the name Gannon-Doak on the back of his shirt - with the Cherries announcing his arrival late last month with a graphic saying ‘Welcome Gannon-Doak’.

With the young wide man only making one cup appearance for Bournemouth thus far though, the name change was not as quickly realised before he came to play for Scotland in Belarus on Monday evening in a World Cup qualifier. One X user noted after: “Highlight of the Scotland game tonight was my da asking: ‘is that Gannon-Doak Ben Doak’s brother?’
