Rob Edwards will deserve the Freedom of Middlesbrough if he can build on his four straight wins and take the club into the Premier League.

The impact which he has already made in the Boro dressing room, allied to helping bring in some astute signings, suggests that this is going to be a big, big season. Ironically, Edwards notched four wins off the spin when he first moved into league management with Forest Green Rovers in 2021.

Wins against Sutton United, Walsall and Rochdale were followed by a six-goal thrashing of Crawley Town. Edwards lost his fifth game, at home to Port Vale, but suffered just two defeats overall between the start of the season and the middle of February.
