PORT HURON, MI – A 40-year-old woman has been charged with open murder and two firearm-related charges for allegedly shooting a 23-year-old man after a domestic disturbance.

Jennifer Lynn Goodall was arraigned Sept. 5 on the charges in connection with a fatal shooting two days earlier, according to a Port Huron Police Department news release.

Police have identified the victim as 23-year-old Chase Hunter Hoyt.

“The Port Huron Police Department extends its deepest condolences to Mr. Hoyt’s family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time,” the news release reads.

Police responded for a shooting at 11:21 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3 in the 1400 block of 10th Avenue.
