LACY LAKEVIEW, Texas (KWTX) - The Lacy Lakeview Police Department on Sept. 8 said its officers are aware of a video circulating on social media “depicting a dog being abused” at a business within the city limits.

“We want to assure our community that we take these matters very seriously and have been working in collaboration with the business to get the suspected party identified,” police wrote in the social media post.

The department said its officers are “working diligently to gather all facts and evidence” related to the incident recorded on video.

Police remind the public that animal cruelty is a criminal offense, and said they are “committed to pursuing justice to the fullest extent of the law.”
