PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- Rivalries take place for high school football, college football sees some upsets, and the NFL kicked off week 1, ushering in the start of WMBD's Fantasy Football league.
Rivalry games took place across Central Illinois, with one of those games being Normal Community High School facing off against cross-town Normal West.
A hard-fought game that began with Normal Community on an onside kick, on the opening kick-off, and recovering it before they pulled out a little trickery to score on the first play of the game.
The Ironmen pulled out a "flea flicker" with Lucas Beatty throwing the ball to Luke Potts who unloaded deep down field for Michael Mavec for the first score.
