CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cleveland Clinic and a leading private university in Uzbekistan will collaborate on the launch of a new hospital in the Central Asia country, the Clinic recently announced.
Construction of the Central Asian University Hospital, located in the Tashkent region of Uzbekistan on the Central Asian University medical campus, is scheduled to begin this year.
Uzbekistan lies roughly between the Caspian Sea and China, north of Afghanistan.
The new 120-bed hospital will have the capacity to care for up to 269,000 patients annually, the Clinic said.
This early-stage collaboration ensures that Central Asian University Hospital will be designed from the ground up based on the Cleveland Clinic model of care, which includes comprehensive medical specialties and world-class medi
