The "HGV nightmare" endured by residents of one of the prettiest villages in Kent has prompted the area's MP to launch a petition urging sat nav companies designed for HGV drivers to change the route.

As KentLive reported last month , i t's hell for residents of Goudhurst as lorries continue to get stuck on a shallow S-bend in the village. It's a years' long and perilous problem for the medieval village, as drivers of monstrously-sized lorries try to navigate the twist on the single-carriageway A262.

Six years ago, Goudhurst Parish Council commissioned a study which put forward an alternative route between Tunbridge Wells and Ashford , via the A228 and M20 . Although this is longer in distance, the higher standard of roads and greater capacity on the route, meant the timing
