The Sturgis Civic Players honored Doug Bates with the Star Sponsor Award for his support of the theater group.

Bates, a former business owner, has supported the group for more than a decade, according to a community announcement. He recently closed his floral shop, Designs by Vogt’s, in Sturgis and plans to open a new shop in Wheaton, Illinois.
