Like something out of cult-classic comedy or a crowd-pleasing underdog drama, the Oklahoma Film Exchange launched a high-speed, go-for-broke rescue mission to raise $100,000 to keep movies playing inside a historic Oklahoma City venue on Film Row .

Sadly, the monthlong crowdfunding campaign launched by the fledgling Oklahoma Film Exchange , or OFX, fell thousands of dollars short of the six-digit goal.
