Autumn’s gold leaves adorning the trees at this time of year provide the perfect backdrop for visitors attending the Packard Proving Grounds Fall Open House in Shelby Township Oct. 19 from 1 to 5 p.m.

“Each year, our fall open house brings the community together to celebrate Packard’s rich history and the incredible people who help preserve it,” Mary Anne Demo, executive director of the Packard Proving Grounds said, in a news release.

The family friendly event offers a unique opportunity to explore the historic Packard site while enjoying a variety of activities for all ages.

These will include

• Cruise-In Car Show featuring some of the coolest cars in town

• The opportunity to take a ride in a historic Packard taxi

• Live entertainment presented by the Belgian American Association
