SCRIBNER, Neb. —

Sometimes the best remedy to increase learning and broaden the school experience is to get out of the classroom.

They know that well at Scribner-Snyder Community Schools, where school buildings are fenced in by corn fields.

"Our school is unique," said Superintendent Kate Chrisman. "We have more of a campus feel. Our students walk outside between each class period. We have different buildings around without connecting hallways."

Chrisman's district is the September winner of Cash in for Schools . KETV and Thrasher Foundation Repair delivered a $2,500 check to Scribner-Snyder Community Schools.
