MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A man is in critical condition after being brutally stomped in the middle of the street in South Memphis on Sunday afternoon, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) said.
Officers responded to the scene at Latham Street and East E. H. Crump Boulevard around 1:43 p.m.
According to police, a man was in the middle of the street bleeding with staggered breathing. The man had multiple injuries such as swelling to the left side of his face and his lips, police said.
The victim's friend found the man in the street and laid him in the front yard on Lucerne Place. According to police, the friend also told them the man was previously arguing with an unknown person at church.
The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition, MPD said.
