YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) -- A judge Tuesday in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court ruled prosecutors cannot introduce evidence of a past manslaughter into the trial of a man accused of murdering a missing Smith Township teen in 2009.

Judge Maureen Sweeney said she made her ruling in favor of Robert Lindsey Moore, 55, based on state Supreme Court decisions that have said jurors should not hear evidence of prior criminal convictions against defendants, except in limited circumstances.

Moore is charged with murder for the death of Glenna Jean White, 17, who was last seen on June 2, 2009, with Moore. Her body has never been found.

The case was reopened after the Portage County Drug Task Force received a tip on the case, and a grand jury indicted Moore in December 2021 for White’s death.
