GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) - The Town of Greeneville is preparing to kick off its sixteenth annual "Scarecrows of Main" contest, where local businesses and individuals compete to create fan-favorite scarecrow displays.
The month-long contest consists of residents, families, businesses and organizations displaying custom-made scarecrows, and members of the public visiting and submitting votes for their favorites.
The area where all scarecrows will be displayed includes the eighteen-block downtown Main Street district of Greeneville, along with Main Street from the 11E Bypass to Crescent School.
All contestants must register with the Main Street Greeneville organization by Sept. 22 at noon at its office at 310 S Main St. Display locations will be assigned, according to the organization.
