SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Dr. Terry A. Murrell, the president of Western Iowa Tech Community College, has announced his plans to retire in 2026.

In a press release, the college announced Dr. Murrell is retiring effective May 15, 2026. He was hired in 2007 as WITCC’s Vice President of Instruction and Student Services. Since 2011, he has been the college’s president.

“Serving alongside our faculty, staff, and students has been one of the greatest privileges of my career,” said Dr. Murrell. “Together, we have navigated challenges, celebrated milestones, and most importantly, made a meaningful difference in the lives of our students and the communities we serve.”
