TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WKRG) — In an effort to strengthen the teacher pipeline, Florida has invested over $1.6 million through a grant.

According to a release from Florida Commissioner of Education Anastasios Kamoutsas, the money will fund the state's teacher apprenticeship program.

“When we invest in future educators, we invest in the success of every classroom across Florida,” Commissioner Kamoutsas said. “The Grow Your Own Teacher Grant supports aspiring teachers on their path to enter the profession, ensuring Florida schools have teachers that are well prepared and committed to helping students succeed.”
