ATLANTA — A busy Atlanta intersection is back open after crews worked to repair a sinkhole, water main break and gas line break.

Crews started working to make repairs at the intersection of Spring Street NW and 17th Street NW on Wednesday night. Workers were able to repair the gas line break at around 9 p.m., according to the Department of Watershed Management (DWM). The sinkhole was repaired on Thursday morning.

The Georgia Department of Transportation posted on its X account that the roads are back open to traffic. Crews repaired the water main break, but the area is closed off until restoration is complete in Midtown.

A spokesperson with the DWM said that instead of installing manhole covers, it chose to fully repair the road instead.
