FORT PAYNE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Fort Payne Police Department identified the man who robbed a bank in downtown Fort Payne on September 9.

FPPD said on September 10, an arrest warrant was issued for 62-year-old Mark Loveless for robbing a PNC Bank the previous day.

Around 9:20 a.m. on Tuesday, a white male wearing blue jeans, a long-sleeve button-down shirt and a black ball cap armed with a handgun walked into the PNC Bank located at 200 Gault Avenue North.

FPPD said Loveless gave the bank teller a note stating that it was a robbery. After taking around $3,000, the man left the bank and started to walk north.

The department said Loveless is a resident of Somerset, Kentucky and has been charged with first-degree robbery. He was apprehended without incident by FBI Task Forc
