The provincially appointed supervisor of the embattled Thames Valley District school board drew criticism after he failed to attend the first meeting of the board’s 2025-26 school year.

His absence left education director Bill Tucker updating committee members at the special education advisory committee (SEAC) meeting about the status of labour lawyer Paul Boniferro, who took over the board in April.

”He is still here,” Tucker told committee members. “I want to reassure SEAC that I will review the SEAC minutes with Paul at the first opportunity after each meeting.

“That will be my intent going forward, as well, so he won’t be out of the loop with our discussions.”
