SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A recent survey named Springfield National Cemetery among the top 100 "most beautiful hidden gems" in the country and one of the top three cemeteries in Missouri.
Insurance agency Choice Mutual surveyed 3,007 people, asking them what they thought were some of the most beautiful cemeteries to wander through in the United States.
In the survey, the Springfield National Cemetery was ranked second-best in Missouri and the 98th in all of America. Choice Mutual says the Springfield National Cemetery ranked highly because of its neat white headstones, cannons and old oaks that scatter throughout a simple but beautiful cemetery. The cemetery is located at 1702 E. Seminole St.
The top-ranked cemetery in Missouri, according to the survey, is the Memorial Cemetery in Ste. Genev
