MAINE, USA — The latest report from the U.S. Drought Monitor, released Thursday, shows virtually no change in conditions from the week before.

The map shows a slight decrease, in fact, for "abnormally dry" areas in the northwest part of the state.

According to the agency, roughly 22 percent of the state is not in drought or dry conditions. That's an increase of nearly 9 percent from the week before, when only 13 percent was not listed by drought or dry conditions.

Here is a breakdown of the drought conditions and the categorical percent data across state:

No drought: 21.88 percent

Abnormally Dry: 15.45 percent

Moderate Drought: 9.73 percent

Severe Drought: 52.94 percent
