COLUMBUS, Ohio — A summer that started out with plenty of rain around central Ohio is now coming to a very dry end , leading to the return of drought conditions across the state.
Just three weeks ago, no part of Ohio was experiencing drought, though about 25% of the state had started to report abnormally dry conditions. Two weeks ago, the first stages of drought began to emerge, and this week, almost 50% of the state was under moderate drought conditions or drier, with a small area starting to enter severe drought.
The bad news is that, given our current dry forecast, this will likely expand in the coming weeks.
