IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - There were two records broken on Saturday night in Iowa’s 47-7 win over UMass.
Kirk Ferentz got his 206th win, which is now the most in Big Ten history for a head coach.
“Can’t believe it quite frankly, that my name is next to that distinction,” said Ferentz.
“I can’t help but go back to when I got here in 1981. Nobody would have ever dreamt that any of this stuff was possible. We hadn’t had a winning season in 19 years at that point,” said Ferentz.
His players, like graduate defensive lineman, Aaron Graves were in awe.
“Just honored that we can be part of a team that is going to give him this record. I was talking about legacy earlier. This is something that people are going to remember forever,” said Graves.
