In his first home start, Titans rookie quarterback Cam Ward showed some of the downfield passing ability that eluded him in the team’s opener.
Ward connected on 4-of-10 passes of 10-plus yards per NextGen Stats, for a total of 74 yards, during Sunday’s 33-19 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
In the opener against Denver, Ward — hurt by a couple of dropped passes and a missed challenge opportunity — went just 1-for-12 on passes of 10-plus yards, totaling only 16 yards.
Ward finished Sunday 19-for-33 for 175 yards overall, a notable statistical bump from his 12-for-28 for 112 yards against the Broncos. He did suffer a critical turnover , a strip sack in the fourth quarter that led to a Rams touchdown.
