AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) - Daniel J. Riccio Jr., a former leader at Apple, has donated $50 million to the University of Massachusetts Amherst College of Engineering, marking the largest gift in the university's history.
The donation will fund scholarships, fellowships, professorships, and new initiatives. In recognition of this generosity, the college will be renamed the Daniel J. Riccio Jr. College of Engineering. A naming celebration is planned for the fall.
