NORMAN — OU running back Tory Blaylock was named Southeastern Conference freshman of the week on Monday.
Blaylock rushed 14 times for 100 yards and two touchdowns in the Sooners’ 42-3 win at Temple last Saturday afternoon.
Through three games, Blaylock is the Sooners’ leading rusher with 31 carries for 166 yards and three scores. He’s averaging 5.4 yards per carry and has also made three catches for 22 yards.
The former four-star recruit from Humble, Texas, has been a pleasant surprise to start the 2025 season, overtaking the more experienced Jovantae Barnes, Xavier Robinson and Jaydn Ott as the leader of OU’s rushing attack.
Blaylock and the No. 11 Sooners return home to face No. 22 Auburn at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
