The Cincinnati Bengals are once again facing an all-too-familiar situation regarding a Joe Burrow injury.

Burrow is expected to miss at least three months of the NFL season after ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Monday that he will undergo surgery for his Grade 3 turf toe injury. That is just awful news for a quarterback who was expected to compete for the MVP award.

Turf toe injuries are graded on a scale of 1-3, with three being the most severe.

Burrow suffered a toe injury in the second quarter of the team’s win over the Jaguars. He was unable to return and was seen leaving the locker room with crutches and a walking boot on his left foot.

Now the news has only gotten worse for him.
