The Morgan County School System released a statement Monday with an update on a West Morgan High School football player's condition after he was injured during a game Friday in Priceville.

West Morgan High first took to socials Friday night after the player was taken to the hospital, asking the community to, "Please lift up Cole Thorn tonight."

Cole was injured during West Morgan's game against Priceville High School, and he was seen giving the crowd a thumbs up while being rolled toward the ambulance on a stretcher. Teams also stopped to pray as he was taken off the field.

In an update Monday morning, Morgan County Schools Superintendent Tracie Turrentine says Thorn is already walking after having to get emergency surgery over the weekend.
