SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. (KTIV) - One person has died after a two-vehicle crash over the weekend in Northeast Nebraska’s Dakota County.

The county’s sheriff’s office says they learned about the crash at about 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 14. It happened on Nebraska Highway 110 between 155th Street and 160th Street, putting it northwest of Dakota City.

The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office says one vehicle was going north on the highway and the other was going south when one of the vehicles appeared to have traveled left of center, causing a head-on collision.

“Weather conditions of heavy rain are a factor in the accident,” stated the sheriff’s office in a press release.
