WETHERSFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — No injuries were reported after a gas main was struck on Monday in Wethersfield, the fire department said.

Fire officials were dispatched around 10:13 a.m. to Meadow View Drive for a reported underground gas line leading to a home being struck by a contractor.

The gas was leaking and venting into the atmosphere, fire officials said.

Connecticut Natural Gas was notified and the gas was shut down around 12:15 p.m.

There was no fire or injuries reported.
