Dalton police arrested 32-year-old Nathan Dean Harrell on Friday after an unprovoked assault in downtown.

Police say Harrell approached a family dining outside Hamilton’s restaurant on Hamilton Street around 4:15pm and punched an adult man in the face. After a brief altercation, Harrell left but was found a few blocks away and taken into custody without incident.

He is charged with assault, battery, and disorderly conduct.
